Terry Pratchett
Terry Pratchett's Vinyl Discworld

Listening notes

Released in 2019 on Demon Records (catalog number DEMRECBOX42), Terry Pratchett's Vinyl Discworld is a box set presenting audiobook readings of seven Terry Pratchett novels across vinyl records spanning positions A through AD. The set is catalogued under the Comedy and Non-Music genres.

The scope of the collection is considerable. The seven titles included are Mort, Wyrd Sisters, Guards! Guards!, Eric, Small Gods, Night Watch, and Only You Can Save Mankind. Each novel occupies multiple sides of vinyl, with individual side durations generally falling in the range of roughly 27 to 29 minutes. Mort spreads across four sides (A1 through D1), as does Wyrd Sisters (E1 through H1). Guards! Guards! is the most expansive single title in the set, running across six sides from I1 to N1, with side durations between approximately 27 and 29 minutes. Eric is the most compact entry, occupying just two sides (O1 and P1). Small Gods returns to four sides (Q1 through T1), and Night Watch extends across six sides (U1 through Z1). Only You Can Save Mankind closes the set across four sides (AA1 through AD1), bringing the total side count to twenty-six.

The decision to present spoken word material on vinyl rather than in a digital or CD format places this release in an uncommon category for the medium. The tracklist data notes that duration information is missing for sides V1 and AB1, which fact checkers may wish to verify against a physical copy or supplementary documentation.

The box set carries the catalog number DEMRECBOX42 and was issued by Demon Records. No additional personnel, pressing, or production details are available from the verified data on hand.
