Traktor Scratch Control Vinyl MK2 Black

Listening notes

Released in 2011 on the Native Instruments label under catalog number NI-21446, the Traktor Scratch Control Vinyl MK2 Black is catalogued under the genres Non-Music and Technical. The release carries no credited artist, consistent with its function as a utility item rather than a conventional musical record.

The disc is a standard vinyl format pressing. Its tracklist is structured across two sides. The A side, labeled "Other Side," runs twelve minutes in total and contains eleven untitled tracks designated A1 through A11. Individual durations for these tracks are not documented. The B side, labeled "This Side," runs seventeen minutes in total and contains sixteen untitled tracks designated B1 through B16, again with no individual track durations listed.

The asymmetry between the two sides is notable in strictly structural terms: the A side carries eleven tracks across twelve minutes, while the B side carries sixteen tracks across seventeen minutes. Neither side's tracks carry titles beyond their positional designations.

The labeling convention of "Other Side" and "This Side" rather than the conventional A and B side designations is an aspect of this release worth flagging for cataloguing purposes, as it inverts or at minimum complicates standard orientation terminology used in vinyl documentation.

This entry is classified as Non-Music and Technical, which collectors and cataloguers using this database should note when cross-referencing against conventional discographic categories. The MK2 designation in the title indicates this is a second-generation version of the product line, though no further version history is derivable from the available data.
