Violators (2)
The No Future Years

Listening notes

Released in 2016 on Mad Butcher Classics (catalog number MBC 062), The No Future Years is a vinyl compilation by Violators (2), catalogued under the genres of Oi, Punk, and Rock.

The record spans fourteen tracks across two sides. The A-side opens with "Die With Dignity" at 3:13 and moves through "Government Stinks," "Pointless Slaughter," and the notably extended "Gangland," which at 5:48 is the longest track on the release. The A-side continues with "Fugitive" (4:26), "Summer Of '81" (3:25), and closes with "Live Fast Die Young" (3:07). The B-side begins at track eight with "Life On The Red Line" and proceeds through "Crossings Of Sangsara," "Affections," "Slow Down," and "Young Blades." The final two positions on the B-side are occupied by alternate versions: "Revenge (Crossings Of Sangsara - Diff Mix)" at 3:30 and "Life On The Red Line (Diff Mix - Edited Version)" at 4:16, the latter running longer than the A-side original despite its designation as an edited version.

The inclusion of those two variant mixes alongside the standard tracks gives the collection a slightly documentary character, presenting more than one version of the same material within a single release. The total runtime is substantial for a single vinyl record, with several tracks exceeding three minutes and the compilation's combined duration pointing toward a densely packed pressing.

Mad Butcher Classics, as indicated by its name, operates as a reissue or archival imprint, though no further contextual detail about the label's relationship to this specific release is available from the verified information provided here.
