Various
Vinyles 80's

Listening notes

Released by Wagram Music in 2017 under catalog number 3350636, Vinyles 80's is a various artists compilation issued on vinyl. The release spans four sides across what the format and tracklist structure indicate is a double-LP configuration, collecting twenty-seven tracks with a combined running time that extends well past two hours.

The compilation draws from a broad range of genres as catalogued: Chanson, Electronic, Europop, Italo-Disco, Pop, and Synth-pop. That spread is reflected in the tracklist itself, which moves between French-language material and international recordings without apparent concern for strict stylistic boundaries. The French-language contingent is substantial, with titles such as "Capitaine Abandonné," "Les Démons De Minuit," "Confidence Pour Confidence," "Voyage Voyage," and "Chacun Fait (C'qui Lui Plait)" appearing across the first two sides. The remaining sides incorporate titles including "Relax," "One Step Beyond," "Words," "Holiday Rap," "Din Daa Daa," and "Born To Be Alive," among others, pointing toward a wider European and international pop context.

Track durations range from a brief two minutes and seventeen seconds for "One Step Beyond" on Side C to five minutes and thirty-four seconds for "Lover Why," also on Side C. Side D closes the compilation with "Born To Be Alive" at three minutes and nine seconds.

The title positions the release explicitly around the 1980s as a decade, and the genre tags reinforce that framing. Wagram Music is a French independent label with an established presence in reissue and compilation releases, though no further detail about the specific licensing or sourcing of these recordings is available from the verified facts provided here.
