This Is Electronic Body Music (Vinyl 1)

Listening notes

Released in 2004 on Blanco Y Negro (catalog number MX 1495 (N)), This Is Electronic Body Music (Vinyl 1) is a various artists compilation presented on vinyl format. The release brings together four tracks drawn from the genres of EBM, Electro, Electronic, and New Beat, offering a cross-section of sounds associated with that broad stylistic territory.

The tracklist is spread across two sides. Side A opens with "Fahrenheit," followed by "Our Darkness (Remix)." Side B carries "Join In The Chant (Phil Harding Instrumental Remix)" and closes with "Attack Ships On Fire (Album Version)." The presence of remix and album version designations in the track titles suggests the compilation draws on existing recordings in alternate or previously released forms, though the specific origins of each track are not detailed here.

As the title indicates, this appears to be the first in what may be a multi-part series under the This Is Electronic Body Music banner, though no further information about additional volumes is confirmed within the scope of this release's documented details.

Blanco Y Negro is the issuing label, a name associated with Spanish music releases across multiple decades, though no specific claims about the label's role in shaping this release's content are made here.

For collectors and researchers working within the EBM and adjacent electronic music fields, this vinyl documents a moment in 2004 when those genres were being revisited and repackaged for contemporary audiences. The four-track, two-sided format keeps the selection focused. Beyond the factual outline presented, questions of personnel, sound, and historical context remain for further verification.
