The Vinyl Solution

Listening notes

The Vinyl Solution is a various artists punk and rock compilation released on Castle Communications in 1985 under catalog number DO JO LP 17. The fourteen-track collection spans two sides of vinyl, presenting a range of titles associated with the punk era without attribution to specific performing artists in the available documentation.

Side one opens with "Orgasm Addict" and moves through "Valley of the Dolls," "Peaches," "I'm Stranded," "Straw Dogs," "Little Red Riding Hood," and "Kill the Poor." The titles will be recognizable to collectors familiar with late 1970s British and American punk. Side two carries "Ever Fallen in Love," "One Hundred Punks," "Go Buddy Go," "Stranglehold," "Greatest Cockney Rip-Off," a live version of "White Riot," and "Jet Boy, Jet Girl." The inclusion of a live track among otherwise unspecified recordings is a detail worth noting for cataloging purposes, though no further information about the live recording's origin is available from the source data.

Castle Communications was active during the 1980s as a British reissue and licensing label, and the DO JO prefix on this catalog number aligns with release patterns documented elsewhere in their output. Beyond that, the specific licensing arrangements, liner notes content, and participating artists for this particular release are not confirmed in the information at hand and should be verified before publication.

Track durations are not documented in the available data. Researchers seeking performer credits, recording dates, or original label sources for individual tracks will need to consult the physical release or a supplementary discographical source. This entry reflects only what the verified catalog data can support.
