Various
Metal Treasures And Vinyl Heavies

Listening notes

Released in 1984, Metal Treasures And Vinyl Heavies is a various artists compilation issued by Action Replay Records under catalog number ARLP 105. The record spans the hard rock and heavy metal genres and presents twelve tracks across two sides of vinyl.

Side A opens with "Women In Chains" and continues through "Losing My Grip," "Violence And Force," "I'm A Rebel," "Love Potion No. 9," and "The Ripper." Side B carries six further selections: "Anger," "White Knuckles / Rockin' And Rollin," "Attack Of The Mad Axeman," "Whiplash," "Straight Forward," and "Hollywood Tease." Track durations are not documented in the available data.

Action Replay Records was a label operating in the budget and mid-price compilation market during this period, and ARLP 105 reflects the catalog approach typical of that sector. The title itself signals the marketing language common to budget compilations of the era, presenting the collection as a gathering of weighty or otherwise notable genre material, though no personnel information or original artist attributions are confirmed in the available record for this release.

The tracklist includes titles — among them "The Ripper," "Whiplash," and "Attack Of The Mad Axeman" — that carry the kind of direct, aggressive naming conventions associated with heavy metal releases of the early 1980s. Whether any tracks share titles with better-known recordings by other artists cannot be confirmed from the available data and should not be assumed without further verification.

This draft requires fact-checker review. Personnel, original artists, pressing details, and reception are unverified and have been omitted accordingly.
