Sonic Adventure 2 (Official Soundtrack Vinyl Edition)

Listening notes

Released in 2018 on the Brave Wave label, the Sonic Adventure 2 Official Soundtrack Vinyl Edition (catalog number BW-SGA002) brings twenty-three tracks from the Dreamcast-era game across four sides of vinyl. The release is catalogued under a notably broad range of genres, including hip hop, pop rock, rock, soundtrack, stage and screen, and video game music — a spread that reflects the stylistically varied nature of the source material itself.

The tracklist is organized to cover the game's principal characters and stages. Side A opens with the main riff and moves through Sonic-centric material, including "It Doesn't Matter," "Escape From The City," "Won't Stop, Just Go!," and the main theme "Live & Learn." Side B gathers tracks associated with Knuckles and Tails, among them "Unknown From M.E.," "A Ghost's Pumpkin Soup," "Dive Into The Mellow," and "Believe In Myself," alongside "This Way Out" for Prison Lane. Side C is largely devoted to Shadow's storyline, running from "Throw It All Away" through stage tracks for Radical Highway, White Jungle, and Final Chase, and closing with "Supporting Me" from the Biolizard encounter. Side D collects Rouge and Eggman material, including "Fly In The Freedom," "I'm A Spy," "E.G.G.M.A.N.," and "Soarin' Over The Space."

Brave Wave, a label with an established focus on video game music releases, handled the production of this edition. Track durations are not listed in available documentation for this pressing.
