Slammin' Vinyl Present Absolute Classic Hardcore

Listening notes

Released in 2002 on Slammin' Vinyl, *Slammin' Vinyl Present Absolute Classic Hardcore* (catalog number SVLPHH008) is a various artists compilation issued on vinyl and spanning genres listed as Electronic, Hardcore, and Jungle. The release spreads across six sides of vinyl, with two tracks per side, amounting to twelve tracks in total.

The sequencing moves from "Sweet Sensation" (4:52) and "Rockin' Down The House" (7:55) on the A and B sides through to "Bish Bosh" (5:29) closing out the F side. Track lengths vary considerably across the set, ranging from just under five minutes to nearly eight, with "Rockin' Down The House" at 7:55 and "Beyond Control" at 7:28 representing the longer entries. The inclusion of a Ray Keith Remix of "Too Much" on D2 is the one track credit explicitly noted in the available data.

The title's use of the word "classic" is worth noting for collectors approaching this record: the compilation was issued in 2002, situating it as a retrospective or curated look at the hardcore and jungle sounds that emerged in the years prior, though no additional context about the selection criteria is available from the verified information on hand.

Slammin' Vinyl operated as both a club night and a record label, and the label name appears here in the release title itself, giving the compilation a branded identity tied directly to that enterprise. Beyond those structural details, prospective buyers and researchers should consult additional primary sources for personnel, pressing information, and any further context about the individual tracks.
