Retro Arena Vinyl Five

Listening notes

Retro Arena Vinyl Five is a various artists release issued by Lightning Records in 2001 under catalog number LR-2001-018. The record spans the electronic, hard trance, house, and trance genres, presenting four tracks across two sides of vinyl.

Side A opens with "Are Am Eye?", the longest entry on the record at nine minutes and fifty-one seconds, followed by "Quixotism" at six minutes and twenty-seven seconds. Side B carries "Beatbox (Acied Mix)" at five minutes and fifty-two seconds and closes with "Dildo (Interdrive Mix)" at five minutes and forty-six seconds. The total runtime across the four tracks comes to approximately twenty-seven minutes and fifty-six seconds.

The mix designations on Side B — "Acied Mix" and "Interdrive Mix" — indicate that at least two of the four tracks exist in alternate versions, suggesting these are not necessarily the original or only configurations in which the material circulated, though the specifics of those alternate versions are not detailed on the release itself as documented here.

The catalog number places this release within a sequenced series from Lightning Records, with the numerical suffix suggesting it was the eighteenth entry under the LR-2001 designation. Whether the Retro Arena series continued beyond this volume or how many prior volumes exist in the sequence is not confirmed by the available documentation.

Released in 2001, the record sits within a period of active vinyl output for electronic dance music, though no specific context about Lightning Records' broader catalog or distribution is available for this entry. Collectors and researchers consulting this release should verify personnel and additional release details through primary sources.
