Alptraumtechnik

Listening notes

Alptraumtechnik is a various artists vinyl release issued in 2006 on Braindestruction Recordz, catalogued as BDR-VINYL02. The record sits within the electronic music genres of gabber, hardcore, and speedcore, placing it among the harder-edged strains of electronic music that found a dedicated audience in underground club culture during that era.

The release spreads five tracks across two sides. The A-side opens with "Peitschenknall" at four minutes and forty seconds, followed by "Dedicated To Hellcia" at three minutes and twenty-seven seconds, and closes with "Mutant 2" at three minutes and two seconds. The B-side carries two tracks: "Angst Im Dunkeln (Vinyl Mix)" runs six minutes and fourteen seconds, making it the longest cut on the record, and the title track "Alptraumtechnik" closes the release at four minutes and one second. The total program runs just over twenty-one minutes across both sides.

The German-language track titles — "Peitschenknall" translating loosely to "crack of a whip," "Angst Im Dunkeln" to "fear in the dark," and "Alptraumtechnik" to something approximating "nightmare technique" — are consistent with the confrontational aesthetic conventions common to speedcore and hardcore electronic releases of the period. The designation "Vinyl Mix" on the B-side opener suggests that at least one track exists in an alternate version configured specifically for this format.

BDR-VINYL02 indicates this was the second vinyl release in the Braindestruction Recordz catalog. Beyond what the catalog number and the record itself confirm, further documentation would be required before making any additional claims about the label, its output, or the contributing artists. Fact checking is advised before publication.
