Rainbow
Finyl Vinyl

Listening notes

Rainbow's *Finyl Vinyl*, released on Polydor (catalog number 314 547 368-2), is a two-disc CD compilation drawing from the band's catalog across the hard rock and rock genres. The release spans fifteen tracks spread across two discs, with the first disc carrying nine selections and the second disc rounding out the set with six more.

The first disc opens with "Spotlight Kid" at just over six minutes and moves through a run of tracks that includes "I Surrender," "Miss Mistreated," "Street of Dreams," "Jealous Lover," "Can't Happen Here," and "Bad Girl." Notably, "Tearin' Out My Heart" is the longest entry on disc one at eight minutes and five seconds, while "Since You Been Gone" is the shortest at three minutes and forty-five seconds.

The second disc shifts the runtime considerably. "Difficult to Cure" leads at eleven minutes and thirteen seconds, making it the lengthiest track across the entire compilation. "Stone Cold" and "Power" follow at roughly similar lengths before the disc closes out with "Man on the Silver Mountain," "Long Live Rock 'n' Roll," and "Weiss Heim." The two closing entries on disc two both exceed five minutes, with "Man on the Silver Mountain" reaching eight minutes and eighteen seconds and "Long Live Rock 'n' Roll" running just over seven minutes.

In total, the compilation offers a substantial runtime, with several tracks demonstrating a clear preference for extended arrangements rather than concise single edits. The Polydor catalog number 314 547 368-2 identifies this as a specific pressing for collectors and cataloguers tracking Rainbow's discography in CD format. A release year has not been confirmed for this entry and should be verified before publication.
