Murder Vinyl Fear Melody

Listening notes

New World (13) released *Murder Vinyl Fear Melody* on Toypoodle Records in 2013. The release takes the form of a CDr and carries no catalog number.

The record spans six tracks and sits at the intersection of grindcore, noise, and rock. That genre combination alone signals a release comfortable with extremity and brevity, and the tracklist bears that out in a striking way. The opening track, "DEN," runs to seven minutes and fifty-four seconds, a length that stands in sharp contrast to everything that follows. The remaining five tracks are brief to the point of near-disappearance: "Mrs.Bitch's Psychodelic" lasts fourteen seconds, "Buzz" four seconds, "Everywhere I Go" twenty-nine seconds, "Telnet" eight seconds, and "Jacob's Skin" thirty-six seconds. The cumulative runtime of those five closing tracks amounts to roughly a minute and a half.

The structural decision to open with a nearly eight-minute piece before moving through a sequence of micro-tracks is a recognizable strategy within grindcore and noise traditions, where the relationship between duration and intensity is often deliberately unstable. Whether "DEN" functions as an extended foundation that the remaining tracks fragment, or whether the shorter pieces represent something more autonomous, is a question the tracklist alone cannot settle.

The CDr format, common in underground and self-released contexts during this period, places *Murder Vinyl Fear Melody* within a mode of distribution that prioritized accessibility of production over commercial infrastructure. Toypoodle Records served as the releasing body.
