Johnny Hallyday
Coffret Vinyl Collector Vogue 1960-1961

Listening notes

Released in 2010 on the Vogue label, the Coffret Vinyl Collector Vogue 1960-1961 is a box set compiling Johnny Hallyday material originally from the years indicated in its title. Assigned catalog number 88697752917, the release is formatted as a vinyl box set and is catalogued under several genres: Chanson, Pop, Rock, Rock & Roll, Twist, and Yé-Yé — a spread that reflects the range of styles present across its twenty-four tracks.

The tracklist runs from position A through X and totals just under an hour of material, with individual track durations ranging from one minute and thirty-five seconds ("Tu Es Là") to three minutes and twenty seconds ("Bien Trop Timide (En Public)"). Several tracks are designated live recordings, identified by the parenthetical "En Public" in their titles: "Souvenirs, Souvenirs," "Bien Trop Timide," "Oui J'ai," "Kili Watch," and "Tutti Frutti" all carry this notation, as does the closing stretch of the sequence.

The tracklist also makes visible Hallyday's engagement with source material from other languages and markets. Parenthetical attributions connect several titles to identifiable non-French originals or counterparts, including "T'aimer Follement (Makin' Love)," "Tu Parles Trop (You Talk Too Much)," "Le P'Tit Clown De Ton Cœur (Cathy's Clown)," and "Sentimental (Baby I Don't Care)," among others. One track, "Not Get Out," is explicitly identified in its title as an English-language version of "Laisse Les Filles."

The box set's framing as a collector edition, combined with its vinyl format and label-specific branding, positions it within a category of retrospective reissue products aimed at a dedicated audience. Beyond what the tracklist and metadata confirm, further details are not available here and should be verified independently.
