Encephaloïd Disturbance / Reade Truth
Vinyl Energy

Listening notes

Vinyl Energy is a 1995 release on Virtual Records, catalogued as VR 5305. The record is a split between two acts, Encephaloïd Disturbance and Reade Truth, and sits within the acid, electronic, and techno genres.

The release carries two tracks across its two sides. The A-side presents "Anaesthetic Influx" in a remix credited to Adam X, running five minutes and fifteen seconds. The B-side offers "ABS-Trax" in a trance mix, clocking in at six minutes and twenty-two seconds. The remix and mix credits suggest involvement from outside contributors in shaping at least some of the material here, with Adam X named explicitly on the A-side.

Virtual Records is listed as the ninth entry under that label name in the Discogs database, distinguishing it from other labels sharing the same name. The catalog number VR 5305 places this release within that label's numbering system, though what that sequence indicates about the label's broader output is not something the available facts can clarify.

The split format, pairing two acts on a single vinyl release, was a common arrangement in underground electronic music during the mid-1990s, and this record reflects that structural convention. Beyond what the tracklist and label information confirm, the circumstances of the recording, the nature of any collaboration between the two acts, and how the release was received are not addressed by the verified facts at hand.
