BT
Emotional Technology (Limited Edition Double Vinyl)

Listening notes

BT's Emotional Technology was released in 2003 on Nettwerk America as a limited edition double vinyl pressing, catalogued under 0 6700 33214 1 9. The release spans four sides and eight tracks, with its genres listed as breaks, electronic, and progressive trance.

The double vinyl configuration gives the album considerable physical weight, with the eight tracks distributed across sides A through D. Side A opens with "Knowledge Of Self" at 8:12 and is followed by "Superfabulous" at 5:23. Side B carries "Simply Being Loved (Somnambulist)" at 5:03 and "The Force Of Gravity," which runs to 9:59. Side C begins with "Dark Heart Dawning" at 7:49 and closes with "The Great Escape" at 7:18. Side D holds the two longest consecutive entries on the record: "P A R I S" at 9:31 and "The Last Moment Of Clarity" at 9:33.

Several of the tracks run well past the eight-minute mark, and the final two on side D together account for just over nineteen minutes of runtime. The album's overall duration, as reflected in the tracklist, is substantial for the format, which may account in part for the double vinyl configuration rather than a single LP. The genres associated with the release — breaks, electronic, and progressive trance — suggest a stylistic range that sits across multiple strands of early-2000s electronic music.

As a limited edition pressing, this double vinyl version represents a distinct physical artifact from Nettwerk America's 2003 release schedule for the title.
