Listening notes
Released in 2003 on Saddle Creek Records (catalog number LBJ-53), the Bright Eyes Vinyl Box Set gathers the project's early catalog across five vinyl records, spanning sides A through N. The set collects four distinct releases — A Collection Of Songs Written And Recorded 1995–1997, Letting Off The Happiness, Every Day And Every Night, and Fevers And Mirrors — alongside the EP Don't Be Frightened Of Turning The Page, representing a substantial portion of Bright Eyes' output from the project's earliest years through the turn of the decade.
The tracklist across the five records is extensive. A Collection Of Songs Written And Recorded 1995–1997 occupies four sides and twenty tracks, ranging from "The Invisible Gardener" through "The 'Feel Good' Revolution." Letting Off The Happiness follows across sides E and F, with eleven tracks including "Padraic My Prince" and "Tereza And Tomas." The shorter Every Day And Every Night fills sides G and H with five tracks. Fevers And Mirrors, the lengthiest of the album inclusions, runs across sides I through L and fourteen tracks, among them "The Calendar Hung Itself," "Haligh, Haligh, A Lie, Haligh," and "A Song To Pass The Time." The final record is given to Don't Be Frightened Of Turning The Page, a six-track EP spread across sides M and N.
The set is catalogued under the genres of Country Rock, Indie Rock, and Rock. For collectors and researchers documenting Bright Eyes' discography on vinyl, this box set represents a single-release consolidation of material that otherwise existed across separate issues, all under the Saddle Creek imprint.
