Booka Shade
In White Rooms (Vinyl Two)

Listening notes

Booka Shade's "In White Rooms (Vinyl Two)" was released in 2006 on Get Physical Music, carrying the catalog number gpm045-6. The release is a two-track vinyl presenting alternate versions of "In White Rooms," situating it within the electronic and tech house genres that defined much of Get Physical Music's output during that period.

The A-side presents the Mexico Mix, running at six minutes and twenty-eight seconds. The B-side offers the Shinedoe Fusion Remix, clocking in at seven minutes and two seconds. The pairing of two extended versions across a single vinyl format is consistent with the functional demands of club-oriented releases, where longer run times allow for greater flexibility in a DJ context.

Get Physical Music, the Berlin-based label, served as the release's home. The catalog number gpm045-6 places this release within the label's documented output, with the designation suggesting it is the second in a series of vinyl releases connected to the "In White Rooms" title — a structure commonly used to distribute multiple remixes across separate physical pressings rather than consolidating them onto a single record.

Shinedoe, credited on the B-side remix, is a DJ and producer whose name appears here attached to a version labeled as a Fusion Remix. The Mexico Mix on the A-side does not carry a credited remixer in the available documentation.

This release represents a snapshot of mid-2000s electronic music distribution practices, where vinyl remained a primary format for club tracks and remix packages were routinely spread across multiple pressings. The specifics of personnel beyond what is listed, the production context, and any broader reception of the record fall outside what the available documentation can confirm.
