Alestorm
Curse Of The Crystal Coconut

Listening notes

Alestorm's *Curse Of The Crystal Coconut* arrived in 2020 on Napalm Records, catalogued as NPR 922 VINYL. The album sits at a crossroads of genres the band has long occupied, with this release classified under Folk Metal, Folk Rock, Heavy Metal, and Rock.

The vinyl edition spreads eleven tracks across two sides. Side A opens with "Treasure Chest Party Quest" and moves through "Fannybaws," "Chomp Chomp," "Tortuga," and "Zombies Ate My Pirate Ship." The titles are consistent with the band's established thematic territory, leaning into nautical and pirate imagery that has characterized their output. Side B carries six tracks: "Call Of The Waves," "Pirate's Scorn," "Shit Boat (No Fans)," "Pirate Metal Drinking Crew," "Wooden Leg Part 2 (The Woodening)," and "Henry Martin." The presence of a sequel title — "Wooden Leg Part 2 (The Woodening)" — suggests continuity with earlier material, and "Henry Martin" may reference the traditional folk ballad of the same name, though this draft cannot confirm an arrangement connection without further verification.

Side B carries one more track than Side A, which may be relevant to collectors assessing how the album's runtime is distributed across the record, though no track durations are available in the current data to confirm balance or sequencing rationale.

The release was handled through Napalm Records, an Austrian label with a broad heavy metal catalog. No additional pressing variants, color editions, or supplementary materials are documented in the data available here.

*This is an unreviewed draft. Track durations, pressing variants, personnel, and the relationship of "Henry Martin" to the traditional folk ballad require independent verification before publication.*
