Seasick Steve
Only On Vinyl

Listening notes

Seasick Steve's *Only On Vinyl*, released in 2022 on There's A Dead Skunk Records (catalog number DSR0043LP), is a blues record that delivers exactly what its title promises: material made available exclusively in this format. The release comprises eight tracks spread across two sides, with Side A opening on "Put That In Your Pipe" and continuing through "Hobo Low," "Crash And Burn," and "How Do You Do." Side B runs from "Down On The Farm 2 (For Simon)" through "Soul Food," "Train Wreck," and closing track "Blue Room."

The title itself is a straightforward statement of intent, positioning the record as something directed specifically at listeners who seek out physical media. In an era when streaming has become the default mode of consumption for most music, a release conceived and titled around vinyl's exclusivity represents a deliberate choice on the part of the artist and label.

The label name, There's A Dead Skunk Records, is worth noting for collectors maintaining accurate catalog records. The catalog number DSR0043LP places this release within a numbered sequence, which may be of use to those tracking the label's output systematically.

Track titles such as "Hobo Low," "Train Wreck," and "Blue Room" fit comfortably within the blues genre designation the release carries, though the contents of those tracks are not described here beyond their titles and sequence. The parenthetical subtitle on "Down On The Farm 2 (For Simon)" suggests a dedicated track, though nothing further about that dedication can be confirmed from available information.

*Only On Vinyl* stands as a straightforward entry in Seasick Steve's discography, documented here for reference purposes.
