Nobuo Uematsu
Final Fantasy VII Compilation Vinyl

Listening notes

Released in 2022 on Square Enix Music under catalog number SQEX-10952, this vinyl record presents ten compositions by Nobuo Uematsu drawn from the Final Fantasy VII soundtrack. The release is catalogued under the genres of Stage & Screen and Video Game Music.

The record is arranged across two sides of ten tracks total. Side A opens with character themes for Tifa, Barret, and Red XIII before moving to the Main Theme of Final Fantasy VII and Cait Sith's Theme. Side B begins with "Descendant of Shinobi" and "The Nightmare Begins," then continues with character themes for Cid and Aerith, closing with "One-Winged Angel," known in the original Japanese title as "片翼の天使."

The selection spans a range of the score's character-specific writing alongside broader dramatic pieces. Five of the ten tracks are designated character themes, suggesting the compilation's organizational focus on the game's cast rather than, for example, location or battle music. The pairing of "Aerith's Theme" and "One-Winged Angel" as the final two entries on Side B places two of the score's most narratively weighted pieces at the record's conclusion, though no track durations are documented in the available data.

No additional personnel, liner note contributors, or production credits are confirmed in the available information. Duration data for individual tracks is not available for this release.

This is an unreviewed draft. All claims should be verified against primary sources before publication, and any details beyond those drawn directly from the structured data above should be confirmed independently.
