Madonna
Step To The Beat: Rare Radio & TV Broadcasts

Listening notes

Released in 2016 on the Egg Raid label under catalog number EGG-357, Step To The Beat: Rare Radio & TV Broadcasts compiles eight Madonna performances drawn from television appearances spanning roughly a decade of her career. The record is a standard vinyl release filed under the pop genre.

The tracklist documents a specific sequence of broadcast moments. Side A opens with her 1984 MTV Video Music Awards performance of Like A Virgin, followed by three performances from Live Aid 1985: Holiday, Into The Groove, and Love Makes The World Go Round. Side B moves forward in time, presenting Causing A Commotion from the 1987 MTV Video Music Awards, Express Yourself from the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards, Sooner Or Later from the 1991 Academy Awards, and Fever from a 1993 Saturday Night Live appearance.

The selection spans events that were, at the time of their original broadcast, significant fixtures in American and international televised entertainment. Live Aid, held in 1985, was a dual-venue benefit concert broadcast internationally. The MTV Video Music Awards appearances collected here come from three separate ceremonies across 1984, 1987, and 1989. The Academy Awards and Saturday Night Live performances round out a tracklist that moves across different broadcast contexts and formats.

No durations are listed for any of the eight tracks. The release carries no additional personnel or production credits within the verified information available.
