Listening notes

Released in 2015 on Aftermath Entertainment, The Vinyl LPs (catalog number 06025 470 369-9 (5)) is a ten-disc box set collecting vinyl pressings of nine Eminem studio and compilation albums alongside the 8 Mile soundtrack. The titles gathered here span from The Slim Shady LP through The Marshall Mathers LP 2, with Curtain Call: The Hits and Eminem Presents The Re-Up also included among the ten records.

The scope of the set is considerable. The Slim Shady LP occupies two discs across four sides, as does The Marshall Mathers LP. The Eminem Show and the 8 Mile soundtrack each fill a double LP as well. Encore, Curtain Call: The Hits, Eminem Presents The Re-Up, Relapse, Recovery, and The Marshall Mathers LP 2 round out the remaining records, each spread across four sides. In total, collectors will find content catalogued across forty sides of vinyl, with individual track counts per album ranging from the more concise single-LP configurations to the more expansive double-LP layouts.

The genres listed for the set are Hardcore Hip-Hop, Hip Hop, Pop Rap, and Thug Rap, reflecting the range of material covered across nearly fifteen years of releases. Titles appearing on multiple discs in different versions — "The Way I Am," "Stan," "Mockingbird," and "Without Me," for instance — appear here both in their original album contexts and on Curtain Call: The Hits, allowing for direct comparison within a single box.

This is an unreviewed draft intended for fact-checker review before publication.
