DJ Swamp
Vinyl Disciple

Listening notes

DJ Swamp's *Vinyl Disciple*, released in 2011 on Decadent Records (catalog number DEC-050), is a double-LP spread across four sides. The release sits at the intersection of several genres, catalogued under Abstract, Breakbeat, Electronic, Funk / Soul, and Hip Hop — a combination that signals an intentionally broad stylistic scope rather than a single-minded focus.

The fourteen-track sequence opens with "Vinyl Disciple Intro" on Side A and moves through titles that carry a certain deliberate edge: "Club Thrashin'," "Rock Rollin'," and "Aliens Are Coming" round out the first side. Side B continues with "Little Landmine," "Feast Of Flesh," "Servant Of Evil," and "Pyro." The second record opens on Side C with "History That Never Was," "Mind Control," and "Plastic Surgery," before Side D closes the album with "Killer In The Rain," "B Girls Invasion," and "The Leaders Will Follow."

Track durations are not available in the current documentation, which makes it difficult to assess the overall runtime or the pacing of individual sides. What the tracklist does offer is a set of titles that lean toward provocative and cinematic imagery — a pattern consistent across all four sides rather than concentrated in any single section.

The double-LP format is a meaningful structural choice for a release operating under the name *Vinyl Disciple*, positioning the physical medium as something closer to a statement than a simple delivery mechanism. Whether that framing is reflected in the content itself is a question the facts on hand cannot answer.
